New EU Customs Rules from 1st July 2026 - What This Means for Go Inks Customers

Published by Go Inks on 1st Jul 2026

From 1st July 2026, new European Union customs rules came into effect that affect all goods imported into EU countries from outside the EU, including orders shipped from the UK.

At Go Inks, we believe in being transparent with our customers, so we'd like to explain what has changed, how it affects your order, and why we've had to make a temporary adjustment to our EU shipping charges.

What Has Changed?

Previously, many low-value orders entering the European Union benefited from a customs duty exemption. This meant that orders below a certain value could enter the EU without customs duty being charged.

From 1st July 2026, this exemption has been removed. As a result, all eligible goods imported into the EU from non-EU countries, including the UK, may now be subject to customs duty, regardless of their value.

This change applies to online retailers across the UK and other non-EU countries shipping directly to customers within the European Union.

How Does This Affect Go Inks Orders?

Go Inks ships compatible ink cartridges and toner cartridges from the UK to customers across Europe.

The new customs rules mean that every EU order now attracts additional import processing costs that simply didn't exist before. Unfortunately, these extra costs are outside of our control.

Rather than increasing the price of our ink cartridges across the board, we've decided to make a temporary adjustment to our EU delivery charges.

Temporary Increase to EU Postage Costs

From 1st July 2026, our postage charges for deliveries to EU countries have increased.

This increase is designed solely to help cover the additional customs and import-related costs introduced under the new EU regulations.

We appreciate that nobody likes paying more for delivery, and this certainly wasn't a change we wanted to make. However, it's currently the most practical way for us to continue offering reliable delivery to our European customers while keeping our product prices as competitive as possible.

Looking Ahead

We don't expect this to be our long-term solution.

We're already exploring alternative shipping methods and fulfilment options that could reduce these additional costs in the future. As customs processes evolve and new delivery solutions become available, we'll review our shipping charges and make changes wherever possible.

Our goal is to provide the best value we can while continuing to deliver the high-quality compatible ink cartridges and toner cartridges that our customers expect.

Thank You for Your Support

We'd like to thank all of our customers across Europe for their continued support and understanding.

Although these new customs regulations have created additional costs for businesses exporting from the UK, we're committed to continuing to serve our EU customers with excellent products, fast dispatch, and friendly customer service.

If you have any questions about shipping to your country or how these new customs rules affect your order, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support team.

Thank you for choosing Go Inks.
